Ancient Sculpture
The sculpture is the art of giving form to an object from a raw material or putting together more material. It is possible to make sculptures by addition or subtraction, depending on the material used.
Wood and marble sculptures are made of carving the matter, while clay
modeling through the addition-up to the final result. In this section you will find ancient sculptures until the end of about 1700, of the principal authors are to be mentioned Giambologna, Bernini, Desiderio da Settignano, Canova, Verrocchio, Arnolfo and many others.
