The book is the catalog of the exhibition organized at the Palazzo Reale in Milano, in collaboration with the Comune of Milano, and allows the meeting with some of the major protagonists of the art scene of the sixteenth century. Mainly is an opportunity to take part in a poetic revolution, the moment when the painting scene's background changes, take a bearing on reality, it becomes the same expression, color and poetry, in short, becomes "landscape" . It is no coincidence that the word "landscape" appears for the first time in this period, in a letter written by Tiziano in 1552 the Emperor Filippo II. 

Mauro Lucco, one of the most important experts of Venetian painting of the sixteenth century, has put together a series of works explanatory of this new way of seeing the work of art in its evolution over a large part of the century: starting from Bellini, through Giorgione, Palma il Vecchio, Cima da Conegliano, through masterpieces of Tiziano, Veronese and Tintoretto. It outlines a path so that each of the 46 works on display, richly illustrated, is described by a careful and critical scientific board.
