Americani a Firenze. Sargent e gli Impressionisti del nuovo mondo

From March 3 to July 15, 2012 Palazzo Strozzi hosts the exhibition "Americani a Firenze. Sargent and the Impressionists of the New World" dedicated to the late nineteenth century American painters in the year of celebrations for fifth centenary of Vespucci. Like a trip contrary, compared to that of the Florentine navigator, from America to Europe and especially Italy, the American artists were discovering the cultural roots of Western culture, antiquity, the particularities of the country for its aspects of climate, landscape and anthropological.
